Highlights of Coaching

·      The age group of students which took part in these various camps ranged from about 8 yrs to 80 years.
·      Children, Parents, Yoga enthusiasts, Yoga teachers and circus acrobats participated in these camps.
·       The goal of organising the camp has been to introduce a new sport, to improve physical fitness, to learn new skills and techniques.
·      Permanent Mallakhamb training has started in Munich, Germany, New Mexico, USA and Singapore.
·      Some of the coaches and students are constantly in touch on e mails informing about the progress in performance, taking tips, so e-coaching has also started.
·      Some of them have come to India to take advanced training.

NATIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS:

PLAYER:

·   Participated as a player in District, State & Nationals and won several laurels in Yoga, Mallakhamb, Gymnastics, Kho-Kho, Basketball, Volleyball, Wrestling etc. from 1969 to 1975.
COACH:
·        Completed N.I.S. Certificate Course from South Center, Bangalore, in 1976 in GYMNASTICS.
·         So far produced fourteen “Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Award” winners in Mallakhamb since 1979.
·        Trained more than 100 National Champions in Gymnastics & Mallakhamb.
·        Conducted Coaching Camps all over India in 19 different states, in order to propagate & popularize the sport of Mallakhamb.
·        Trained a number of visually challenged students girls from Kamala Mehta Dadar School for the Blind, since 1992, who have excelled themselves, in the sport of Rope Mallakhamb, to the extent that they were selected to perform in front of the Honorable President of India, Shree A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, on 06.07.2003. Also trained blind boys from Victoria Memorial School for the Blinds, at Tardeo and Happy Home School for the Blind, at Worli, in Pole Mallakhamb & Rope Mallakhamb.                                
·        Along with visually challenged students, also trained Adivasis, Vanvasis from the tribal areas, deaf & dumb, mentally challenged & physically handicapped special children in number of coaching camps, all over the country.                               
·        Been appointed as Mallakhamb Coach by CISF to train their Jawans in Mallakhamb & to give a Mallakhamb demonstration in front of the Honorable Dy. Prime Minister, Shree Lalkrishna Advani at their Rising Day Parade in 1999, at Gaziabad, U.P.
·        Worked as Coach of University of Mumbai, in every All India Inter University Mallakhamb Championships conducted by different universities, since 1982 till today.
·        In the first National Women’s Mallakhamb Championships, held at Baroda, in 1985, was the Coach of the three Women’s teams, from Maharashtra, Karnataka and Gujarat, which secured the first three places in the competition.
·        Conducted a Yoga Training Camp for the employees of Rajbhavan from May 06 to July 06
·        Gave personal training to his Highness Shree S.M. Kishna, Governer of Maharashtra and his wife Mrs. Prema Krishna in 2006.

·           Qualified Referee in Gymnastics & Mallakhamb.
·           Worked as Judge in almost all the National Gymnastics Championships    since 1979 to 1990 and for the 3rd National Games in Pune, Maharashtra & 4th National Games in Mysore, Karnataka.                                                                                                                
·            Worked as Superior Judge in almost all the Mallakhamb Nationals held in different States, since 1976.
·           Worked as Chief Conductor and Chief Judge in every All India Inter University Mallakhamb Championships conducted by different universities, since 1982 till today.
·           Worked as Competition Director of Mallakhamb at the III National Games held in Pune, in 1994.
·           Conducted All India Mallakhamb Judging Examination, since 1991, till today, including conducting of lectures for the candidates, setting question papers, conducting viva, assessing answer papers and conducting practical tests.
·           Holding the post of Hon. Secretary of the Mallakhamb Federation of India since 1989, till today.         
·           Framed the syllabus & conducted the 1st NIS course for Mallakhamb at Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports City, Balewadi, Pune, between 18th May to 28th June 1994.
·           As a General Secretary of Mallakhamb Federation of India (MFI), since 1989, visited almost all the States, contacted interested people, brought them together and formed the State Associations, got it registered and had it affiliated to MFI. As a result now there are 29 State Associations in the country and they are affiliated to the Federation.
·           Got Rope & Pole Mallakhamb included at the N.C.C. Republic Day Parade at New Delhi, since 1977 and worked as in charge of Mallakhamb group for the first few years of its inclusion.
·           Organized over 1000 demonstration in Mumbai, in & outside Maharashtra in order to popularize & propagate Mallakhamb.
·           Organized 5 National Mallakhamb championships & 2 State Mallakhamb Championships in Mumbai.
·           Got Mallakhamb included as a demonstrative sport, in the 3rd National Games at Pune, in 1994.
·           Done the Govt. of India, Ministry of Sports and Ministry of Railways recognize Mallakhamb, since 1996.
·           Got Mallakhamb, recognized by the Indian Olympic Association, since 1998.
·           Inducted Mallakhamb Competitions in the All India Mumbai Mayor’s Cup Sports festival, since 1988 and successfully conducted 15 Mumbai Mayor’s Cup All India Invitational Mallakhamb Championships, in Mumbai.
·           Got the Mumbai University Mallakhamb and Gymnastics teams entered in the All India Inter University Gymnastics & Mallakhamb Championships, since 1982.
·           Got the Rope Mallakhamb women’s competition included in the National Mallakhamb championships, since 1985 and was the Coach of the first three Women’s teams, from Maharashtra, Karnataka and Gujarat, in the first National Women’s Mallakhamb Championships, held at Baroda, in 1985.
·           Got the Rope Mallakhamb Women’s Competition included in the Inter University competitions, since 2004.
·           Landmark Graduate Course in

 ORGANISATIONAL AND PROMOTIONAL WORK

·           In association with the District Association, started over 50 centers in the city of Mumbai.
·           As Hon. Secretary Maharashtra Amateur Mallakhamb Association, increased the number of affiliated districts, from 4 to 33 in a span of 12 years, by visiting each & every district, giving demonstrations, conducting coaching camps, providing guidance to form District Associations, from amongst the locals and getting it affiliated to the State Association.
·           Got Mallakhamb included in the State level School Games, since 1990, which is organised by the Department of Sports, Govt. of Maharashtra.
·           Got Mallakhamb included as an integral part of ‘Kala Ghoda Festival” organized by Maharashtra Tourism development Corporation (MTDC) every year, since 1997.
·           Got Mallakhamb included in the 1st & 6th Ashwamedh – Maharashtra University Sports Meet in 1994 & 2002.

MANAGEMENT ABILITIES 

·           Appointed as Hon. Secretary of the International Mallakhamb Federation at the 2nd World Cup Mallakhamb Championships held in Brazil in 2002.
·           Working as Honorary General Secretary of the Mallakhamb Federation of India since 1989 till date.
·           Worked as Hon. Secretary of the Maharashtra Amateur Mallakhamb Association, since 1987 to 2000 and now working as Chief Organiser, from the year 2000.
·           Working as Hon. Secretary of Shree Samartha Vyayam Mandir, Dadar, since 1984.
·           Working as a Trustee of Brihan Mumbai Kreeda ani Lalitkala Pratishthan, an autonomous multi purpose sports Organization, having 2 Sports Complexes at Andheri & Mulund, since its inception in 1988 and as Managing Trustee since 1997.
·           Appointed as Special Executive Magistrate, by Govt. of Maharashtra from 1998 to 2002.
·           Appointed as a facilitator on the Mohalla Committee, since 1997.
·           Appointed as Member on Board of Sports, SNDT Women’s University, and University of Mumbai.
·           Appointed as Co- ordinator of Walker’s Ecological Movement since 1978.
·           Appointed as Member of the Mumbai Mayor’s Cup All India Competition
Co-ordination Committee, since 1989.
·           Initially set up The Mahamumbai Vibhag Mallakhamb Sanghatana and later the Mumbai City District Mallakhamb Association and was elected as the First Chairman of the same, since 1998.

13. “Proff. Manikrao Excellence Award” as Best Coach, by Shree Samartha Vyayam Mandir, Dadar, in July 2004.

14. “District Sports Award” 2003 as Best Mallakhamb coach, given by Mumbai City District Sports Office of Directorate of Sports & Youth Services, Maharashtra state, in July 2004.

15.    “Vocational Excellence Award 2004-2005” by Rotary Club of Deonar R.I. District 3140, Deonar, Mumbai in October 2004.

16.    “State level Raktakarna Award” by Raktanand Group, Maharashtra, for donating blood for more than 50 times, in December 2004.

17.    “Madhavrao Maharaj Scindia Award” 2004 by Shantai Education Society, for contribution in the field of Sports, in January 2005.

18.    “Dadoji Kondadev Puraskar” 2003-04 as Best Coach, in Mallakhamb, conferred by the Government of Maharashtra, in February 2005.
